Safety
First
The primary reason that All Play carries
Woodplay® playsets is that safety is their first
and last concern. Their engineers safety-check
each set to make sure it meets their demanding
standards. Decks are securely fastened to frames
for extra stability.
Each timber is planed twice and edges are
rounded and hand-sanded to protect little hands.
Woodplay even Plastisol-coats the galvanized
swing chains so they won't pinch hands. And
Woodplay playsets are finished with a specially
formulated non-toxic
Stain/Sealant that protects both your
investment, and your little ones' health.
Woodplay's angled safety
ladders allow young children to safely reach the
upper levels of the sets and the non-slip Flat
Steel Safety Rungs eliminate the dangers of
slippery round rungs.

Over-Engineered
Woodplay has always been the leader in
developing innovative redwood playsets for
families. Many of their design features like the
Angle Base playset and Notched Angle Braces have
gone on to become industry standards. Three
decades of playset design and manufacturing
delivers a wealth of experience for you.
Woodplay puts
that experience to good use by continually
enhancing their design and safety features. This
commitment to innovation is seen today in
Woodplay exclusive features that no other
manufacturer offers, like their Non-Slip Flat
Steel Safety Rungs and Adjustable A-Frame
Construction. Woodplay uses only the finest
materials to manufacture their sets, to ensure
they can withstand years of rambunctious play.
Heavy 4" x 4" and 4" x 6" timbers for
frame and safety rails and 2" x 6" deck timbers
are all Premium Grade Redwood Lumber. All Woodplay
structural and ground-contact components (unlike
pressure-treated lumber) are decay and insect
resistant throughout the lumber, not just on the
surface. Only heavy-duty, large-diameter
galvanized hardware is used for superior
strength and rust protection - not the
small-diameter, zinc-coated hardware of some
manufacturers. Woodplay even uses
engineer-proven 3-way
interlocking lag bolt construction,
resulting in more rigid joints and a stronger
structure than ordinary 2-way carriage bolt
connections. By using only the best materials,
Woodplay is able to offer the
BEST WARRANTY IN THE INDUSTRY - just one
more reason you won't find a better quality
playset on the market.

Woodplay and the
Environment
Woodplay uses New Growth Coastal
Redwood, a naturally beautiful, insect and decay
resistant, construction-friendly lumber that
reflects their commitment to the environment. No
dangerous chemical preservatives are needed to
pressure-treat the wood, and it's one of the
fastest growing woods in North America, making
it an easily renewable resource. Ambitious
reforestation programs plant five new trees for
every one harvested, and all on their suppliers'
own land.
Playground Safety Tips:
Remember it is all about SAFE
FUN
-
Supervise: 40% of playground
accidents are a result of inadequate adult
supervision. Look for hazards, watch
children playing, and assist if an injury
occurs.
-
Age-Appropriate Equipment:
Equipment for children age 5 and up is not
suitable for younger children. Be aware of
your child's abilities.
-
Free of Hazards: Make sure
your play area (public or private) is free
of obstacles like toys or trash. Plan enough
space for swings. Don't get too close to
landscaping.
-
Examine your playset: Check
your playset every few months to ensure that
hardware is secure and surfaces are smooth.
Openings should be less than 3.5", or
greater than 9", to avoid potential
entrapment.
-
Falls are cushioned: Falling
to the ground accounts for almost 70% of
playground injuries. Make sure you have the
proper surfacing materials at the proper
depth to cushion falls.
-
Understand the Rules: Review
your safety rules and good playground
behavior with your children. Have them alert
you to other children that are playing in an
unsafe or dangerous manner.
-
Never wear a hooded shirt:
Hooded sweatshirts or shirts with strings
are extremely dangerous around playsets. Be
especially careful when dressing your
children in cooler weather to avoid clothes
that make pose a strangulation risk.
Playset Safety Inspection
A few weeks after installation,
at the beginning of each usage season, and every
two weeks during the season, we recommend that
you perform a safety inspection. This inspection
should include:
-
Check all nuts and bolts and
tighten as needed.
-
Inspect all swing hangers
for wear and tightening if needed.
-
Inspect all plastic, rope,
and wood components for wear or damage.
-
Replace any damaged
components immediately. Contact All Play for
replacements.
